Mn. KENNETH MOORE has been appointed to the board of directors of Jonas Woodhead and Sons, Ltd., following the resignation, through illness, Of MR, FRANK WOODREAD.
We publish on this page a portrait of MR. ALEX FRASER, who has been appointed manager of New Hudson, Ltd., the maker of the Girling brake. He joined the company some 10 years ago as assistant works manager, and four years later was appointed works manager. He was educated at the Royal Technical College, Glasgow, and served his apprenticeship with a firm of marine engineers, after which he gained further experience with the Albion, Ruston Hornsby and Star concerns.
For the 22nd year in succession, ALD, RICHARD IVIAYNE has been elected chairman of the transport and electricity committee of Newcastle-onTyne City Council.
Ma. D. N. HARRIS, a member of the service staff of Leyland Motors, Ltd., recently sailed for Capetown. His journey abroad is associated with the company's policy of assisting the younger members of its staff to obtain first-hand knowledge of operating conditions overseas.
Sheffield Transport Committee has placed on record its appreciation of the services rendered by MR. A. R. FEARNLS Y., who became general manager of the transport department in 1903, and retired this month. In 1903 the undertaking was relatively small, but it is now one of the largest municipal systems in the country.
