Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

to the shared Volvo/Renault call centre at Rugby. but it was a dedicated Renault operator who picked up the call after three rings.A West Countryman with a sense of humour, he even managed to share in the jokes over our truck's registration number, EWE, while taking the details.

The only slight delay was in identifying from our limited information which branch ofThornpsons in the NorthEast was our home dealer. A quarter of an hour later we had an ETA of 60-90 minutes and. true to that promise, Steven Holliman turned up at the gate 62 minutes later.

Mind you, Holliman's impressive knowledge of RTC's local truck parc meant he was already suspicious when we flagged him down for a chatand no broken down Renault in sight."I thought it was a bit strange as I didn't think there were any Magnums around here; they're all Premiums!"

Renault's man was in the workshop doing an inspection ."Whoever is around during the day attends; after hours we've got dedicated people," reported Holliman whose massive Mascot breakdown van looked as if it could carry everything including the kitchen sink. For the purpose of our test, however, he had the usual jump start pack plus fuses and tools.

Typical breakdowns for Holliman include flat batteries, air leaks and nonbuild-up of air and of course, tomsuzies.

The small matter of congestion got a wry laugh too."Funnily enough last week !joined the M1 on Junction 9 and went straight into a jam that took me an hour to clear," he recalled."I had to call Renault 24 and tell them what was happening.Theres not a lot you can do but if you can let people know they don't get too frustrated."

Meanwhile, Holliman suggests: -If only drivers would do their daily checks it would save a lot of trouble. Walk around the truck and look at it. And give as much information on the fault so we can have the right tools on the van. However, his parting shot, "Get them serviced regularly!" is arguably the best advice of all.

Duration of initial call: 5min Time for ETA: 15min ETA: 60-90min Time to arrive : 72min
