Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

UNION LEADERS are accusing a pan-European driver agency of using its base in the UK to legally sidestep the employment rights of Eastern European drivers.

They say the JOB Driver Network office in Cambridgeshire recruits these drivers for work in Denmark yet offers them barely a third of the average wage paid to Danish drivers.

Carsten Paulin, leader of the international section of the Danish truck drivers' union, met union members from seven other north European countries last week to discuss ways of stopping the practice.

"We are trying to persuade the Danish authorities to act," Paulin says, -and we need the co-operation of the English authorities to do this."

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Transport & General Workers Union.

ICB boss Benny Nielsen says the agency has nothing to hide: We have the permission of the government in Denmark to do what we're doing.

"I don't know what we pay them [the drivers], hut if you take a holiday in Poland do you pay the same for food as in England?"
