• Drinkwater Sabey says it is the first to use Maywood OnBoard's new Frontloader weighing system for a front-end loader (FEL) refuse collector.
Most other weighing devices sit beneath the body but Maywood fits the sensors to the loading arms that raise the bin over the cab to load into the container body.
A Volvo FI,10 8x4 with Fand bodywork has been supplied with the new weighing system: it will operate from DS's Eastbourne depot.
Frontloader fits to any new or existing FEL rigid chassis, costs between £1,750 and 122.100, has a claimed 97% accuracy and carries a two-year warranty.
An optional in-cab display unit/printer can be programmed to give other management data.
