• NORFOLK LINE STUBKJAER/BEDFORD/ HIND Transport group Norfolk Line has made three management appointments.

Knud Stubkjaer becomes general manager of the UK division of the Norfolk Line group. He succeeds Peter Bedford, who is promoted to corporate sales and marketing director at the company's Dutch head office.

Jeremy Hind, chief accountant and company secretary at the UK company's Great Yarmouth head office, becomes deputy general manager of Norfolk Line, the UK division.

• UNITED CARRIERS THURSTON Wellingborough-based express carrier and distributor United Carriers has appointed Bill Thurston as national accounts manager to head its newlyformed national accounts team.

He spent six years as national accounts controller with pharmaceutical company Whitehall Laboratories.

• COOPERS PATIN NAYLOR Peter Naylor has been appointed market development executive of Coopers Payen, the Slough-based gasket manufacturer. He was previously sales executive for south-east England. • BRS NORTHERN SALES TEAM BRS Northern has changed its sales structure, making eight appointments: Alastair Meikle becomes company sales manager after four years with BRS; Bill Reynolds, formerly major accounts sales manager, is now field sales manager; and Mike Kaye joins the company as business development executive.

New area sales managers are: Evan Kremmydas (Preston); Bob Dixon (Manchester), who joins from Ryder; Geoff Parker (Leeds); Joe Bean (Bradford); and Nigel Lane (Newcastle), from TNT.

• BOND DELIVERY WOOD Bond Delivery Service, which trades as Bondelivery, has promoted Richard Wood to manager of its new depot in Swansea.

• BUS AND COACH TRAINING GRAY/KEMP/STREET/ THOMAS Bus and Coach Training has four new board members. They are: Stephen Gray, managing director of Grays Luxury Travel, Barnsley; Wilf Kemp, personnel and engineering director of South Yorkshire Transport; Mike Street, director of human resources and technical engineering services and works, West Midlands Travel; and Mark Thomas, group managing director of Western Travel.

• INDEPENDENT EXPRESS ALDRIDGE Parcels carrier Independent Express has appointed Julian Aldridge as its financial controller, based in Independent's Northampton headquarters. He was formerly financial controller of a subsidiary of Hazlewood Foods.

• PETER LANE TRANSPORT HARRISON Mark Harrison has become manager of Peter Lane Transport's London depot. He has 12 years' experience in transport, beginning his career as assistant manager at BRS's Exeter depot.

• BRS WESTERN JONES Kerry Jones has joined BRS Merthyr Tydfil as a truck rental manager. He was previously with Sharpe and Fisher as transport manager.

He has not become truck rental manager for south Wales, as reported in our issue 14-20 July 1988. That post remains the responsibility of Peter MacDonald.

• NFC LONGHORN John Longhorn has been elected to the main board of the National Freight Consortium to represent the shareholders of the employeeowned group. His new title is shareholder director.

His day-to-day job remains as operations systems manager for Lynx Expresss, the NFC's parcel delivery company.
