Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Extension of Premises and the Installation of New Plant Necessary to Meet Increased Orders for Commer Superpoise Vehicles.

IN order to cope with the increasing demand for Commer vehicles, u bich has came about as the result of the introduction of the Superpoise range of machines, Commer Cars, Ltd., Luton, has found it necessary to extend its premises and to install new plant of a type suited to quantity production.

Two mechanical overhead conveyors, one no less than 680 ft. long, are responsible for transporting component parts to their respective assembly points: one of these conveyors has been specially designed to accommodate over 200 radiator blocks.

Each sub-assembly section now has a greater output and is positioned so as to act as a lateral feeder to the powerdriven frame and chassis tracks, which, incidentally, have been increased in length to 108 ft. and 170 ft. respectively. Such units as front and rear a xlcs, engines, gearboxes, steering gears, etc., are, therefore, dischar, gerl at points most convenient for their fitment to the chassis.

As an example of this arrangement. the driver's cab is lowered on to the moving chassis as a unit, complete with scuttle, instrument panel, wiring, front wings and radiator. It is mounted on the Dia flex system.

The new continuous stove-enamelling equipment, which is 80 ft. long, is of particular interest, as, for reasons of convenience and economy, it has been designed to span the works roadway which separates the enamelling and assembly shops. Thus, the parts to be treated are cleaned and dipped, and while they are baking are conveyed over this roadway to the assembly-shop stores.

The new dispatch shop is 300 ft. long by 90 ft. wide, and beneath it an A.R.P. shelter, having an area ( 8,000 sq. ft., has been provided. 1 will provide accommodation 'for ow 1,000 people. The general effect of this schCme c modernization has already bee realized, as, whilst the output c Commer Superpoise models exceeds an production figure hitherto achieved b the company, the high standard c craftsmanship associated with Comme vehicles has been fully maintained.
