Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AFTER trials with one of the UK's leading distributors of frozen food, TransFrig Ltd of Gosport, Hampshire, has developed an alternative to conventional eutectic plate refrigeration systems.

The company says that its fastest-growing market area is in hydraulic/eutectic combinations which can now be supplied in two forms: • The hydraulic/eutectic onepiece overcab unit which is light and compact, incorporating a patented eutectic evaporator with a hold-over capacity of up to two hours. • The new Transtube system, which consists of a number of eutectic filled steel tubes located in the vehicle roof with refrigeration via a TransFrig hydraulic electric condensing set.

The overcab system is continually recharged while the vehicle is in motion by using an hydraulic drive via a pto or direct from the engine.

The principal advantage claimed for the new Transtube system is that the tube design gives more surface area than a conventional plate design.

TransFrig also claims that improved convection due to the roof mounting results in a faster air temperature recovery after door openings.

By using an hydraulic/electric condensing set, the cooling potential of the tubes can be recharged while the vehicle is in motion. A recent case-study produced a weight comparison with a conventional plate system weighing 1160kg (2552 lb) against the 690kg (1520 lb) for the TransFrig system.

STEMCO Truck Products, whose main product is commercial vehicle hub seals, has introduced two exhaust system seal clamps to its range. With the brand name Torctite, both are designed for commercial vehicle and industrial exhaust applications.
