Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

An instrument for accurately settingup the governed speeds of diesel engines is available from CAPA Group Ltd. The Revtester is an optical tachometer which senses reflections from a single piece of reflective strip placed on the engine's bottom pulley wheel. Speeds from 250 to 10,000 rpm may be measured.

Battery operated, the Revtester will operate at distances of up to 1 m (39in) and at angles of up to 45° to the shaft. A calibration self-check facility is provided for the instrument, along with a battery check position to ensure continuously accurate readiness. Standard batteries and lamps are used, and no special lamp alignment procedure is necessary.

Available from: CAPA Group, 9c The High Street, Bramley, Surrey.
