The Municipality of Tokio has acquired 35 Fords and 12 Packard' lorries to take the plat* of hand-carts for the removal of the city's sewage. This is transported to the agricultural areas beyond the confines of Tokio and sold to ferment. If 'other Japanese cities follow the lead of the capital in 'this matter, a large market for lorries of this type f will be opened.
