A proposal to run motor coaches to the Souiliport fairground has been scotched by the Southport Watch Committee, which received an application from a locsl company for permission to run a char-a-bancs from the Chapel Street Station to the fairground. The committee declined to create such a nprecedent. A point that weighed with tlift was the danger of running coaches through the main avenues leading to the promenade.
