esidents on the Scottish island of Arran are fuming over plans to introduce parking restrictions as at present residents and visitors can park wherever they fancy Shopkeeper David Brambles is livid: "We'll be having traffic lights and wardens next on an island which is only ;. ever congested during ferry times in July and `. August." The bad guys—North Ayrshire 1 Council—are ready to paint 1,000 yards of double yellow lines in the main town of Broderick. I reckon it will be a brave man who steps off that ferry, brush in one hand, paint pot in the other.
