Tacho strike date fixed
TANKER drivers at Ellesmere Port are expected to go ahead with a 48-hour token strike in protest against the installation of techographs in their cabs.
The strike is due to take place on Monday and Tuesday and could involve up to 1,000 drivers. Employers have been asked to give Transport and General Workers' Union officials written assurances that the tachos will come out.
Drivers in the area voted for the strike in a mass meeting which was called over the issue of tachos.
