Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

delivering blood to hospitals. I am told that I can drive for longer than the permitted hours. Is this correct?

ANo, it is not correct. Exemption from the requirements of Section 96(3) of the Transport Act 1968 is contained in the Drivers' Hours (Goods Vehicles) (Exemptions) Regulations 1972 for work done in connection with the delivery of blood for transfusions. This refers to extended hours on duty, but not to extended driving hours. Paragraph 7 of Part II of the regulations allows a driver to work up to 14 hours on any one day in any working week, but he must be off duty for rest and refreshment during that day for a period of not less than that by which the working day exceeds 10 hours.
