For light pick-up trucks a new battery-powered chain hoist has been introduced by the Elephant Chain Block Company.

Lifting capacity is 300kg (660 lb), and the unit is controlled by a pendant control. Each hoist is fitted with an overload audible warning device which prevents accidental overloading.

The unit is supplied with all necessary fixing brackets and can easily be fitted to most vehicles.

The pressurex unit consists of an air cylinder with a capacity of 1240 litres (42cuft) at a working pressure of 2e685kNisqm (3000 psi). The cylinder is fitted with a control valve and two gauges—one indicating the air pressure in the cylinder and the other the delivery pressure.

The air cylinder can be re-charged by Submarine and Safety Engineering or at any British Oxygen or Air Products depot.
