REGISTRATIONs of new goods vehicles show a marked drop in figures just released by the DoE. Registrations in August this year for Great Britain showed that only 18,704 vehicles were registered in August compared with 20,277 in the same month in 1974. In the January to August period there was a 15,000 drop, with 151,460 vehicles being registered this year. Public transport vehicles, on the other hand, showed a decrease of only 34 to 5,580 this year.
