TEW novelty on the Unic stand is the 14-28 h.p provincial taxicab chassis, which is shown in polished form. The price of this vehicle is £425 without a body. The engine is of the four-cylinder type and has a detachable head, thermosiphOn cooling and engine and gearbox as a unit, a dry-plate clutch being utilized. A four-speed gearbox is fitted, controlled by the driver's right hand, and there are four-wheel brakes. Else

lighting and starting are installed, and the: springing system is interesting in that there are semi-elliptics• in front with lioudaille, shock absorbers and twin cantilever rearsprings. Items of interest are the large and accessible Oil fillers.

The other taxicab is of the metropolitan type, having a 12-16 h.p. engine, and, of course, three-quarter elliptic springs at the rear. The bare chassis weighs 18 cwt. and the useful load, including body, is 25 cwt. Single front and rear pneumatic tyres are supplied, also one spare wheel.

The 30-ewt. chassis is shown as such, tuso in the form of a 14-seater singledeck bus and 14-seater char-a-bancs. Dealing with mechanical details first,

engine is rated at 13-24 h.p. and 41,ives through a loather cone clutch to a four-speed gearbox. The chassis frame is straight in elevation and is borne by semi-elliptic springs front and rear. Michelin steel disc wheels are supillied, carrying pneumatic tyres, single mothe case of the4front wheels and twins on the rear.

The char-a-banes accommodates 14 persons, there being one door on the near side, and adequate weather protection is arranged by means of a neatly folding hood and celluloid side curtains. An entrance is provided on the off side for the driver, and a canvas signalling flap is installed in one of the side shields.
