Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MWO models of the Trojan are ex hibited, the mechanical details of which are similar, but the tyre equipment is different, being in one case by Pneumatics and in the other by solids. The load capacities in both instances are 7 cwt. and a practical type of Van body is used, one heirig finished Mite and the other red.

The familiar type of chassis is dispensed with, a steel construction known as a punt being used instead. In this is housed the four-cylinder two-stroke engine, which drives through a two-speed epicyclic gear, reduction gear and single chain to the solid rear axle. Brakes operate in the near-side rear wheel drum and on a drum in the transmission system. The gear change is entirely foolproof and the reverse can, of course, be used as an emergency brake. Oil is poured into the petrol for lubricating purposes and the lever for regulating the mixture is located on the facia board.

Springing is original, cantilevers being

fitted fore anti aft, but the ends of the springs next to the axles are solid, the leaves being riveted together. The free ends slide on rollers which have lubricating spindles. Exceptional length is a feature of the springs and the riding comfort, even with solid tyres, compares favourably with that afforded by pneumatic equipment. Both axles are tubular and the steering heads are inclined to give easy steering. For simplicity, no differential is fitted.

An air silencer is fitted to the carburetter which is of a special type. A hot spot is provided to separate the oil from the fuel. Combined head and side lamps are used, the battery also supplying current for the ignition.

On the model employing solid tyres these are of a new type having short lateral indentations on alternate sides of the tyre. On the pneumatic-tyred Model the spare wheel is carried on the off-side running board.
