Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IX vehicles of Overland manufac

ture are exhibited, the chassis being of two capacities, viz., 10-12-cwt. and 20-25-cwt. Four-cylinder engines are fitted in ttll cases, the h.p. rating being 19.6. The cylinders and upper half of the crankcase are cast in one and a detachable cylinder head is fitted ; cooling is on the thermo-siphon principle aided by a belt-driven fan. The starter and carburetter are on the near side, whilst the magneto is losated on the off side and has its armature parallel with the crankshaft.

Bolted to the rear of the engine is the gearbox, final drive being by open propeller shaft to an internal gear-drive axle. Semi-elliptic springs are employed at the rear on the larger model, quarter-ellipties being used at the front, these being fixed to the centre of the frame and tamed backwards, whereas on the smaller model both axles are sprung by splayed guarter-elliptic springs. This method Of suspension is somewhat unusual and it possesses the merit of giving a longer spring base than wheelbase. In addition an advantage of spiayed springs lies in the tendency to prevent rolling of the vehicle on corners, The types of coachwork include a fixed lorry body, a traveller's brougham, a drop-sided tipping body and large and small vans.

The traveller's brougham in particular is an instance of the response to the modern demand for increased business efficiency. Transported in comfort he arrives at his destination with samples in good order.
