Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

-L1 LEVEN exhibits of these two _112J makes together give the prospective purchaser an opportunity of inspecting almost every type of vehicle or chassis which he can select from the range of the makers in question.

Taking the K32 G.M.C. chassis first, this is of two tons capacity. The f ourcylinder engine has Eiseinann magneto ignition and the valves are located side by side. Tandem drive is employed for the dynamo and magneto, and the engine speed is governed. Fan and impeller are used for water circulation. An interesting point to which considerable attention has been given in the U.S.A. is to be found on G.M.C. models in the form of an air cleanser which removes the dust and abrasive material from the air before it passes to the carburetter.

The gearbox is mounted at the rear end of.the engine as a unit, and drives to a massive rear axle which has radius rods.

Four-wheel brakes are fitted, operated by pedal, and the tyre equipment is of the single pneumatic order all round, inflation being catered for by a pump driven from the gearbox.

• D14

Similar in design, but of course modified as regards dimensions, is the E17 G.M.O. chassis of 30-cwt. capacity.

Turning now to the Chevrolet exhibits, two capacities are found, 10-cwt. and one ton. The smaller chassis has a four-cylinder engine with overhead valves operated by push rods, the rocker gear being covered by two casings. The main fuel tank is Under the driver's seat and supply to the carburetter is ensured by means of a vacuum tank on the front of the dashboard. Ignition is by Remy coil and distributor, the oil pump being driven from the rear end of, the dynamo. Cooling is by fan and im peller-type water pump. ,

Pneumatic tyres are of course, provided, mounted on detachable rims, and suspension is by. gemi-elliptic springs all round, small rubber blocks being fitted to the rear springs to prevent direct metallic contact with the frame in the case. of striking a large hump at high speed.

The large Chevrolet model is, generally speaking, of similar design, but of course, has a more ubstantial frame and axles to contend with the heavier burdens. The rear springs, however, are moantel over the axle instead of being undershing as in the case of the smaller machine. .

A variety 'of coachwork is displayed, the colour scheme of the yellow and black 10-cwt. Van in particular being striking.
