Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LIKE MANY, many others who have been in the job for years (or decades) I think my views are like other drivers/haulage bosses: it does not matter what party is in power, it makes no difference to us.

Would these MPs or other socalled people in power accept the standards of overnight parking in this country?

Would they put up with the washing/shower arrangements of the motorway service areas? And being charged up to £30 per night for it?

Would they live in a sleeper cab [six foot by four foot approx] with the risk of parking in a socalled secure car park? It normally is secure while the man is collecting the money, then he’s gone – would they put up with having their load stolen or their fuel stolen?

Or, better still, half way through the night, a bloody fridge lorry with its engine going parks next to you so you cannot rest. You cannot move and if you did (which would be illegal may I add) you would not find another place to park because of the size of the HGV parking on the motorway holds only about 15 trucks.

But, they say, you must have decent rest. It’s the law!

Why not invite, no, force, MPs to share in this wonderful life for a couple of days. Let’s see if they have the powers of Mystic Meg to know where the best available/ secure, if we can make it, parking area is going to be within your driving hours.
