Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

■ A director and an employee at Rhymney-based Impel Distribution will be appearing at Cardiff Crown Court this week for sentencing over fuel tax evasion in what is believed to be the largest case of its kind ever discovered in the Swansea area.

At a previous court hearing company secretary Clive Bradley had pleaded guilty to using paraffin to run 19 CVs; employee David Moseley admitted collecting the paraffin from a local oils supplier and delivering it to Impel's yard.

Customs Excise, which raided the company's premises in March, says that up to £297,000 of excise duty was evaded; the two men are contesting the amount. Once this has been decided sentences will be passed.
