NORTH!

By our Northern Correspondent Eric Strongitharm Oswaldtwistle.

Showing the Spagthorpe Motor Company has lost none of its famous design flair, the latest debutante to emerge from the legendary Iron Works is the Thrutcher—Spagthorpe's first, and possibly last, attempt at an all-terrain load carrier.

Most innovative feature of the Thrutcher is its chain-driven oval wheels. Mechanical maestro, long-serving engineering overseer Isaac "Slide Rule" Frazackerley, explained: "Ee, lad, ah can't think why no one's thought of it afore now. Y'see t'oval wheels give twice t'traction over soft goin'. One wheel digs in, like, while t'next gives flatfooted support. We're workin' on round wheels as optional extras, like, so Thrutcher will work on tarmac too."

Oleaginous sales and marketing director the Hon Nigel Spagthorpe added: "Daddy's terribly excited about the new project, old boy—I personally approved the development funding and it's all gone absolutely swimmingly."

FLASH: In a surprise reshuffle of his middle management team, company chairman Sir Jos Spagthorpe announced that Isaac Frazakerly and the Hon Nigel Spagthorpe would be transferring to the group's building maintenance division. He told the gentlemen of HM press: "Let's see how much damage those daft buggers can do sweeping out t'yard."
