• Toyota is to increase its stake in h-lino and wit take a tighter grip on its management. Toyota executive vice-president Tadaak Jagawa will take over as president of Hino in June to oversee a re-structuring of the loss-making company, before it becomes a full subsidiary.

Hino is believed to have lost 1.60m in the last financial year half the previous year's loss. Toyota will increase its current 36.6% holding to 50.1% with the purchase of around £375m of new Hino shares in August.
