Commercial Vehicle Auctions handled the sale for Be Ilgate UK at Holme-on-Spalding-Moor near York at the end ot January. More than 170 prospective buyers turned up to bid for vehicles up to five years old.

Bidders from the trade as well as operators came from as close as Goole and from as far as Truro in deepest Cornwall.

Going under the hammer were lateyear Volvo FH12 460 6x2 Globetrotters, Scania R124 420s on two and three axles, and a brace of Daf 95XF 430s. Trailers included 10 Fruehauf Euroliner trainers, seven Lawrence David curtainsiders and a Montracon tilt.

Most lots reached and beached CAP retail prices but the most outstanding performer was a Renault Magnum E-Tech 480 6x2 tractor on a 54-plate which sold for more than it cost new.
