A LYNX DRIVER had a lucky escape when youths hurled a brick through his vehicle's windscreen in Northampton.

The missile was thrown from a footbridge above Great Billing Way at around 530pm on 24 February. It smashed the windscreen but the driver escaped serious injury: the offenders then ran off towards Thornfield.

One of the offenders wore a dark jacket and a dark hat: the other wore a dark jacket with light blue sleeves. Both were about 5ft 4in tall. A police spokeswoman says: "This could have had extremely serious consequences but luckily the driver escaped unharmed. Any witnesses should contact us immediately."
