The company claims to have "firm commitments" from 500 UK-registered hauliers to use Le Shuttle for up to 70% of their cross-Channel journeys. It has also announced that small operators using the service will pay more than twice as much as larger hauliers, but freight lished tariffs are based on commitment to the service and credit terms—with preference given to cash—rather than simply being linked to the number of crossings.
Eurotunnel expects to hold 40% of the short-sea Channel crossings market by the end of this year.
