Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN order for four A.E.C. Regent double-deckers, three having 120 h.p. petrol engines and the fourth an A.E.C. 130 hp. oil engine, has just been completed for the Sociedad Madrilena do Travias, the municipal-transport department of Madrid. The vehicles are equipped with 56-seater bodies built by Park Royal Coachworks, Ltd., Abbey Road, London, N.W.10, and are to go into service this month.

The buses have an overall width of 8 ft., which, of course, affords a more spacious interior than is the case with vehicles for use in this country, and the doors are on the right-hand side. Red is the predotninating hue of the internal scheme of decoration, the seats, which have Dunlop Latex cushions, the blinds and panel coverings all being of this colour. Externally, the vehicles are finished in cherry red and ivory.

In view of the hot climate in which the buses will be used, great attention has been paid to ventilation and protection of the passengers from the sun. The roof, is lined with Sunburite and is made in two thicknesses, with a 11-in. space between, through which air is circulated by means of louvres at the front and rear.

318 Further ventilators are provided in the upper and lower front bulkheads and above the lower-saloon windows. Colt ventilators are fitted in the upper deck roof. Both saloons have Quicktho full-drop windows, and all windows have Rexine spring blinds.

The pillar cappings, waist rail and ceiling mouldings are of polished walnut, whilst the ceilings are cellulosed broken white. Black Doverite cover

ings are used for the ball-type grab handles, staircase hand-rail, and for the stanchions. Futurist oblong-type lamps, of which there are 10 in the lower saloon and 11 in the upper compartment, afford illumination.

The name Ado, which these vehicles carry, is the registered trade name under which all products of the Associated Equipment Co., Ltd., Southall, Middlesex, are sold in Spain.
