Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TT is claimed by the makers (Herbert 1Terry and Sons, Ltd., of Reclditch, who have done so much to simplify various operations in and around the motor vehicle by the introduction of many clever devices) that, with their new Parable valve spring lifter, eight valves can be taken down in about three minutes. -We made a test with four valves of an engine (choosing those which we had regarded as the least accessible) and at the first time of using the tool had removed them all in a few seconds under two minutes, and we fully believe that the chard could be substantiated.

With the Paralok a parallel movement is given to the two separating faces. The blade resting on top of the valve tappet has its edge bevelled off for ease of insertion between tappet and valve stem, the upper blade being slotted

for the admission of the end of the valve stem. The parallel lift eliminates friction between the stem and spring or collar. One squeeze with the hand lifts the spring and the lifter automatically locks itself, three locking positions being given, so that the hands are left free for the -removal of the cotter. While the handles are gripped, a finger

touch on the locking lever unlocks the pressure and the grip can be released gradually to avoid any risk of injury to the cotter or cotter hole. The action is as simple as it is quick and definite. The tool sells at fis. retail, and can be obtained from most motor dealers or direct from the makers. Its use will certainly facilitate repairs.
