wHEN an application involving four new
' articulated vehicles was granted by the North Western Licensing Authority, Mr. C. R. Hodgson, at Liverpool on Wednesday, subject to the surrender of the two licences held by Hobbs and Clarke (Liverpool) Ltd., he queried the sun-ender of the whole of the licence% involving 18 vehicles.
For the applicants, Express Transport and Forwarding (Warrington) Ltd., Mr. E. A. Whitehead confirmed that total surrender was involved which led Mr. Hodgson to comment: "How sad".
Mr. Whitehead explained that the application was to acquire what remained of one of the oldest businesses in the Liverpool area, the stage having been reached when it was impossible to continue.
