THE German Customs at Emmerich are now insisting that all foreign vehicles entering the Federal Republic must be in a position to produce documentary evidence to the effect that the vehicles arc readily sealable. In practice, this is being interpreted as requiring foreign hauliers to produce a TIR Certificate of Approval issued by the competent authority in their own countries.
U is understood that this is a new regulation introduced comparatively recently by the German authorities. The long-term result would appear to be, therefore, that international hauliers wishing to run to Germany must ensure that their fleet has GV60s.
