THE first of a new self-contained portable bulk blowing unit manufactured by N. Tamplin and Co. Ltd.. of Birdham, Chichester, Sussex, has recently gone into service with F. Lloyd of Penley. Denbighshire. Mounted on a York Trahsfour semitrailer, the container is capable of handling grain, cubes, pellets and any other free flowing non-abrasive materials at a discharge rate of' from 10 to 15 tons per hour working on a 30 to 50 ft. head.
The container incorporates a power pack comprising a Volkswagen industrial petrol engine direct coupled to a Rootes-type blower mounted on the front of the container sub-frame.
