Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Atkinson Vehicles have introduced a new-design silencer as a standard fitting on all their Gardner-engined vehicles. It is claimed to give a reading of some three decibels less than the previous type and to have a back pressure one-third less.

Atkinson also announce a new exterior mirror and mirror arm arrangement. The new equipment is made by Wingard Ltd, of Chichester, and is positioned further forward than the previous unit, placing it nearer the driver's line of sight. The arm has a three-point mounting to reduce vibration and the mirror is a flat glass-type, although provision for an additional convex mirror has been allowed for in the design of the arm.
