Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

with drivers' hours: "The proposed one day off-duty per week does not have to be taken as literally one day off in every seven.Could you tell me whether this interpretation still applies?

AThe meaning of this interpretation is

that the one whole day off-duty in each week does not have to be taken literally as one day off in each consecutive period of seven days—for example, every Sunday off, although this would, of course, comply with the law. What it means is that when a driver has a working week of Sunday to Saturday and he takes the Sunday off as his legal 24hour rest period, he does not then have to take another day off until the Saturday of the following week, ie 14 days later, but he has still had 24 hours (or one day) off in each seven days, the Sunday of one week, the Saturday of the next.
