MR, W. M. PARK, of Park, Ward and Co., has been appointed by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders as a representative on the executive committee of the Motor and Cycle Trades Benevolent Fund in place of Mr. F. I. Connolly, who, as hon. treasurer of the Society, now finds himself unable to give the necessary time for Benevolent Fund work. The Society's other representatives are Mr. C. T. .Mabey. Mr. A. Peake-Jones and Col. D. C.'McLa.gan.

Further to a paragraph appearing in our issue for last week, it should be made clear that in the absence of MR. P. CORNES, the Leyland manager in Cape Town, who is on a visit to this country, MR. P. DE PUTRON has assumed managership of this branch and not the South African organization of the company, as stated. The headquarters of Leyland Motors (S.A.), Ltd., are in Johannesburg, and are in the charge of MR. COCKSHUTT, the company's South African manager.

MR. R. B. Witteme, H.M. Trade Commissioner at Singapore, is at present in this country on an official visit, and will be available at the Department of Overseas Trade, 35, Old Queen Street, London, S.W.1, from July 6-8. Those interested in the export of British products to certain parts of the East Indies should communicate with the DOT., quoting reference 22530/36.

A very pleasant feature of the Conference dinner of the Municipal Tramways .and Transport Association was the presentation of travelling vouchers to the value of £100 to MR. A. R. FEARNLEY, general manager of the Sheffield municipal transport depart. meat. The occasion was his retirement from the office of honorary treasurer after a long period of service for the Association. Mr. Feamley was one of the founders of the Association at a meeting held 36 years ago at Manchester, and he has occupied almost every important position in it. He hopes to utilize the vouchers in travelling to the United States, and he has promised to pass on to the Association anything interesting he learns from his tour.
