Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Engine: 10.5-lit, 6cyl, 360hp/1,800Nm, 400hp/1,900Nm, 440hp/2,100Nm Transmission: 16spd man, 12spd auto Chassis: 6x4, 8x4 Wheelbase:6,400-6,700mm GVW: 26.0t, 32.0t Having discarded the TGA, MAN has rebranded it as the TGS. It has been made more road friendly In its lightweight 32-tonne guise, and at the same time the 35-tonnedesigned heavy-duty version has been made that bit tougher to suit harsh environments.

There are three narrow cabs in the options list — M, Land XL— although the 6x4 offers only the M and L versions. A 6x4 tractor is also available.

The D20 engine is well appointed here and, at 10.5 litres, it's lighter than most of its competitors, with options up to 440hp to suit most outfits.

The chassis has been waisted to reduce the kerbweight and the cab position is high, which tends to go against traditional UK specification, but it improves ergonomics within the spacious day cab and offers a better driving position.

If the product suffers from anything, it's an ambiguous market image. It is not seen as a first choice and isn't on the shopping list for traditional operators, but it's worth consideration.

As expected, ERF was phased out due to 'a lack of customer demand' and the TGS has a long way to go before it can hope to fill the gap traditionally filled by that classic marque.
