Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Grit spreaders are the ultimate in seasonal kit, with the • potential to tie up expensive trucks just waiting for bad weather to strike.

Fully demountable bodies offer one solution, but the latest product from Ryders International presents another. The Meyer range of spreaders are completely selfcontained units which can be quickly fitted to ordinary trucks.

Two types are offered. The first includes its own hopper,

and can be kept fully loaded and ready to be lifted onto the truck Boor. Two sizes are available, one with a 4.5yd3 hopper for larger trucks and a smaller, 2.0yd3 capacity version for pickups. Both are powered by independent Briggs and Stratton four-stroke petrol engines.

The second type replaces the tailgate of a tipper, with a full-width auger fed by tipping the body.
