• Sheerness Cool Stores is launching an in-house distribution service, with six MAN tractive units, 15 trailers and 10 drivers.
Managing director John Gaskelt, a former director of Hunter Distribution and ex-MAN dealer, says that launching the transport operation was part of his plan when he moved to SCS last July. Several of the managers are ex-Hunter personnel with distribution experience, says Gaskell.
He plans to focus on fruit delivery from ports to supermarket chains.
