• Cory Environmental has won a £16m seven-year contract to provide refuse collection and other services to Southend Council.

The company will operate a commercial refuse collection service from January. The main contract begins in April and includes house-to-house refuse collection; street, beach and toilet cleaning; and gulley emptying.
