Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

a coach privately operated must he DoE tested three years after firs! registration, this is not so in every case. We are dealers in second-hand military vehicles (including coaches) and we are compelled to provide a test certificate before resale. What are your comments?

A The testing of private cars is provided for in the Motor Vehicles (Test) Regulations 1968 511714. In particular, vehicles are required to be tested three years after "first use". This is usually synonymous with "first registration" though obviously this does not apply to the kind of vehicles to which you refer.

I think you will agree that there are few if any, other situations where the expression "first registration" does not cover the requirements.
