:POT IN ABERDEEN

NEXT Tuesday, January 7, the new depot of Atlas Express Ltd. in Craigshaw Road, Aberdeen, is to be opened by Lady Tweedsmuir, M.P., Joint Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Scotland.

Considerable expansion of business has necessitated this move to larger and more modern premises in Aberdeen, the new depot occupying an acre of ground and having a loading bank 180 ft. long, 50 ft. wide and 3 ft. 6 in. high which is completely spanned. There is 54 ft. of unloading space, part of the deck being separated by wire mesh divisions to facilitate the stacking of parcels and the rest being available for storage and distribution requirements. The office is within the main depot building.

The Aberdeen branch manager is Mr. J. Anderson, who has been with the company for 38 years; Mr. C. Nelson Smith, director, has overall responsibility for the company's Scottish branches.

The branch offers storage and distribution services for small consignments to all parts of the British Isles and through rates are available to the Conti nent by Eurofreight Ltd., via the port of Grangemouth. Air freight traffic can also be handled.

In September, 1963, a new Eurofreight Truksea service was introduced from Grangemouth to West Germany and the Nethei lands; this service is proving popular and it is hoped to extend its ranee of operation soon.
