Tw°mobile workshops, each with radio cabin and light-alloy aerial, have been shipped to Compania Shell de Venezuela for use in the oilfields. Based on Comrner 3-ton long-wheelbase, normal-control chassis, the bodies cost approximately £1,250 each and were made to the design of Shell engineers by 0. G. Lywood, Ltd., Hayes, Middx.

Constructed in steel, they will be manned by skilled personnel in radio communication with their base camp, to provide a 24-hour emergency repair service for oil wells and installations.

The body of each vehicle is divided into two compartments, that at the front being 4 ft. 8 in. long and 6 ft. 6 in. wide. It is fitted with a sliding door and has foam-rubber seating for the crew, whilst there are a steel table and loose chair for the radio operator.

The rear compartment is 8 ft. 8 in. long and 6 ft. 6 In. wide, and is boarded on the sides to a height of 4 ft. 6 in., with an open space above to the level of the cant-rails. The compartment houses a switchgear box and a large toolbox which is bolted to the floor.

Ducting at floor level and extending through the partition to an access flap in the front bulkhead provides accom modation for the carriage of long sections of pipe. An engineer's 6-in, vice on a sliding draw-out support is at the i.ear.

Power for hand tools and hand lampsis obtained from two 25-v. and one 50-v. sockets on the transformer which can be connected to the mains supply through the switchbox.

A sun .canopy is fitted over the cab roof, and the roof of the front compartment is insulated with 2 in. of glass fibre, being ventilated by a 7k-in. Vent-Axia fan.
