IN Parliament, recently, Mr. Caw, Financial Secretary to the War Office, informed Mr. Touche that the rules applying to the lighting of civilian vehicles applied generally to the lighting of,,military vehicles, except that, in cases of extreme urgency, head lights might be used during an air raid, and, during night manceuvres, the ordinary lights might be switched off.
In the latter case, however, the hack axles were illuminated.
The method of screening the lights was different from that applying to civilian vehicles, but had been agreect to by the Air Ministry, and was considered to he at least equally effectiv6 against aerial observation. Instructions had been issued that these regulations were to be strictly enforced.
