ROAD SAFETY campaign group Brake has published an information pack to highlight the danger of wheel loss.
The Wheelsure-sponsored pack includes an information sheet for operators with sections on the law and practical measures to help stop wheel loss,as well as case studies, details of safety devices and an advice sheet for drivers, Between April 2003 and March 2004 VOSA imposed no less than 2,0( prohibitions for wheel fastenir defects on trucks and buses. Last month a Yorkshire driv4 was killed when the tyre on a lo wheel blew up in his face (CM: January).
Brake chief execi tive Mary Willian says: "Wheel loss extremely dangerot and can be fatal. It essential that all flei managers take immee ate steps to ensure the vehicles are safe."
