Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

pristine, clean shaven, suspiciously-youthful driver. You might be forgiven for thinking the vehicle is driven by a dummy (or a CM roadtester—Ed) and that nice boat on the low loader is all at sea in more ways than one.

And you would be right. The 'trotter is the pride and joy of Martyn Barrett of Southampton, a super enthusiast who runs the Volvo Truck Club. It is a one-sixteenth model kit based on a German scale kit which Martyn has suitably embellished. It features twin motor drive; three-speed gearbox; two cliffs; working lighting including fog lights and hazards; engine sound system (featuring starter, tick-over, an engine note which matches the speed of the truck and a hiss of air from the brakes when it stops).

The trailer has an electric winch, side extensions, loading ramps and fully-automatic all-wheel steering. The radio-controlled vehicle is 1.4m long and cost £2,500 to build. You will know it is behind you when its air horn blasts.

Pity that not all "real" trucks have so much care taken over their road worthiness and appearance.
