ENTY .Hycaflex flexible containers have recently been ordered by the New Zealand Forestry Commission from Fireproof Tanks, Ltd., Portsmouth, following extensive tests carried out by the Commission with a sample container. The tanks are made from a laminate of nylon and Hycar nitrile rubber. made by British Geon, Ltd. They measure 7 ft. x 5 ft. 9 in. empty and unrolled. but when rolled up the diameter is only 9 in. and the container and its valve weiizh only 30 lb. The tanks have a capacityof 250 gal., and filling takes 1 min. 23 sec. Fighting fires in large and remote forest areas requires huge quantitie, of water, and the use of these Hycatlex containers should reduce the difficulty of transporting water quickly to he scene of such fires.
