CAPTAIN R. TWELVETREEs. A.M.I.Mech.E., has rejoined the R.A.S.C. as 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to No. 14 Driver Training Centre as a technical instructor.
MR. DAVID WRIGHT, chairman of the Scottish Carriers and Haulage Contractors Association, is at present indisposed and, on doctor's orders, will not return to business for some time.
MR. P. R. BAUGH, of Sheffield, has been re-elected chairman of the commercial-vehicle section of the Yorkshire division of the Motor Agents Association, MR. W. HOLDEN, of Leeds, being re-elected vice-chairman. They were also reappointed delegates to the M.A.A.'s Commercial-vehicle Council.
Mn. H. .D. GIBBS, who has been well known in the motor industry for many years, has joined the maker of Dymlite products, Richfield Electrical Components, pending his call by the War Office, as he has already been offered, and has accepted, a commission. It will be remembered that Mr. Gibbs was for many years associated with General Motors, Ltd., and the Chrysler Dodge organization. In the trade, he is, of coursg, better known as " Gibby."
Passenger Services to Evacuation Areas AVE understand from the C.M.U.A. IT that committees of passenge:vehicle operators are being set up in the various Traffic Areas to discuss ways and means of dealing with the problem of services to evacuation districts. The proCedure to be followed is that each committee will collect, from local operators, information as to the services they desire to operate in this connection, to the end that a concise and complete programme may be put before the Ministry. The first meeting of the committee in the Metropolitan Area has already been held; those in the provinces are tc follow quickly.
Twenty A.E.C. Trolleybuses to Join Shanghai Fleet MORE A.E.C. trolleybuses are to pplement the large number already running in the-Far East. A contract recently received by the Associated Equipment Co., Ltd., will add 20 four-wheeled single-deckers to the fleet of the Shanghai Electric Construction Co., which now has some 200 of this make in operation.
