There has been a slackening of actual receipts, during the past week, for the benefit of our Campaign Comforts Fund, although it will be observed that the average. income per month, for October to January. inclusive, has been slightly in excess of 2800. It is fortunate that we opened the 1915-1916 season with a fair stock in our stores; this was particularly the case with driving gloves. Our estimates of income have been closely fulfilled, and it is evident that we shall reach the five-figure mark at or about the end of next month.

R.E., No. 2 Gun R.M.A. Howitzer Brigade. The Napier Car on Offer.

We have-to.report that the six-cylinder Napier car, the gift of S. Wolf and Co., Ltd., for the benefit of the Fund, has not yet been sold. We have set a reserve on this machine of £220; one bid, which was very little short of that sum, fell out on account of war losses. The vehicle, with its handsome landaulet body, and with new Palmer tires, is in good running order, and a, sum of 260 odd was recently spent on a complete overhaul, apart from the tires. The car is a tempting bargain, and we. shall hold it for sale later in the year, rather than let it go at a price which we consider an inadequate one. It should make a direct appeal to many who want a commodious private type of car for jobbing, hotel-service, or family use.
