Trading Standards looks at Hackney HGV training firm

Sy Chns Tindall TRADING STANDARDS officers are investigating HGV driver training business Pathway Solutions after receiving complaints about the Hackney-based firm.

Concern is growing about money owed to both trainee drivers and businesses that Pathway outsourced training to after trading appeared to have ceased at its Curtain Road, London, address.

As CM went to press, Companies House was still listing Pathways Solutions as an 'active' company. However, its phone number was no longer working, and one of its two listed directors,

Fokru Muth, terminated his directorship last week.

Hackney Council is advising anyone affected by the firm to call Consumer Direct (08454 040506).

A council spokeswoman says: When Hackney Council's Trading Standards team were informed of complaints about Pathway Solutions Limited and Pathway HGV Training by Consumer Direct, the council initiated talks with the company to look into its compliance with legal requirements. Hackney Council's investigation into the business practices of these companies is still ongoing.

She adds: "As far as Hackney Council is aware, Pathway Solo tions Limited and Pathway HGV Training are not trading at the address of 13-21 Curtain Road.

-This does not mean the directors may not be conducting busi

ness from another location. We have received no information that Pathways Solutions Limited and Pathway HGV Training has ceased trading as a business."

Pat Nicholson, for the Professional Drivers Association, says: "People that go to Pathway pay Pathway for training, and Pathway pays the firm to do the training. There will he a lot of drivers involved, but also driving schools that have been given the work."

CM was unable to contact either Meah or remaining Pathway director Abdul. Belal,
