Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IR North Yorkshire County Council has voted to impose weight restrictions on three roads around Tadcaster, rejecting protests that the limits are "draconian". HGV traffic will be restricted to 7,5 tonnes on parts of the A659, C286 and C306 after complaints from residents and traders that trucks take short cuts to the Al.

However, John Smiths Brewery, based in Tadcaster, fiercely opposes the restrictions, claiming that 155,000 miles a year will now be added to its HGV journeys. 'None of the brewery traffic identified in the survey could be routed away from the centre as it originates in Tadcaster," it says.

Tadcaster Chamber of Commerce president Brian Percival says the wishes of 120 residents have taken precedence over local business needs.
