lahe Hawk once fancied he had a dramatic calling, hut the lure of the page proved stronger than the lure of the stage. He still has yearnings though, which were brought to the fore when he heard about the Eastern Angles Theatre Company which, thanks to funding from the National Lottery, has just taken delivery of a new van from Orwell Trucks, the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle distributor, based in East Anglia.
The 814D Vario will transport sets, costumes and actors, as the company tours schools and communities around the county.
And, may I say now, if ever they are in need of a helping hand from a fellow thespian, then they need look no further than yours truly, who still has a pot of greasepaint tucked away somewhere ready to see some action!
